Travelling To Whistler BC

Travelling To whistler

What should you consider when travelling to Whistler Resort? Who can you fly with? Are there a number of Airports available to fly from in the UK or is it just London? Which Airlines fly here? Do you hire a car once there or use transfers? All very important questions… well we are here to help and provide you with everything you need to know about getting to your favourite resort!!

Flying

Travelling to Whistler by plane is fairly straight forward with not one but three international airports nearby and a good choice of flights out of the UK to these international airports.

Vancouver International is the closest airport to use when travelling to Whistler Mountain Resort. Direct flights from London Heathrow take a little under 10 hours, with non direct flights also available at slightly cheaper prices.

If you live too far outside of London and would prefer to use an Airport closer to you in the UK then indirect flights are available from many airports but these do take several hours longer ranging anywhere from 11 hours to 16hours, indirect flights do have their pros though and are usually a fair bit cheaper than direct flights, this is a big benefit for many people as flying into the US can be very pricey especially when travelling in a group or if travelling on more of a budget.

Vancouver International Airport is 2 hours 13 minutes away from Whistler Mountain by car, Vancouver airport also has a shuttle transfer service available to book for Whistler with flexible options and times.

Across the border in the United states you have two more options for airports Bellingham international at 2hrs 46minutes and Seattle-Tacoma 4hr 29minutes drive away.

driving

When driving to Whistler it is pretty straight forward as only one road travels into Whistler.

Whistler is only accessed along one route and that is highway 99, which is also known as the sea to the sky highway. It is a spectacular route to drive with breath taking views, just be sure to always check road conditions before heading out as in the height of winter conditions can change quickly.

Car Hire

Car hire is always a popular choice instead of transfers when travelling into a resort from any major airport.
