British run Pinewood Chalets, founded during the 2016-17 winter season, has announced an expansion plan for this winter that includes several new properties.
Following a successful winter operating ‘Le Petit Sport’, a twelve bedroomed chalet sleeping 26 guests, providing affordable catered ski holidays (from £219pp with 7 nights half-board accommodation including wine or beer with dinner), the company is offering alternative self-catered apartments that are focused on the high-end side of the market.
Pinewood Apartments are five stylish new-build properties that provide flexible accommodation and can sleep up to 12 people on either a self-catered or catered basis, depending on guests needs. Chalet Onze is a newly renovated property that sleeps up to 9 people also providing flexible options for catering in the heart of Villeneuve Village with direct access to the ski area.
Pinewood Chalets co-founder, Dave Symonds, said:
We want to be known as an affordable ski holiday company that provides exceptional service and we’ve proved that with ‘Le Petit Sport’. But we also know that some of our guests want a different level of accommodation with the flexibility to cater for themselves, or not if they prefer. Pinewood Apartments offers ‘affordable luxury’, all with spacious living areas and we’re really excited to be expanding in our second year of operating in Serre Chevalier.

About Serre Chevalier
Located in the Southern French Alps, Serre Chevalier is a collection of villages – and the medieval town of Briançon – stretching across a high valley close to the Italian border and the Ecrins National Park. The large snow sure ski area attracts around 300 days of sunshine per year, but because of its extensive north facing slopes and sophisticated snow making facilities, it’s possible to ski in good conditions between December and April. The area has 250 Kilometres of slopes making it one of the largest ski areas in France and 61 ski lifts including a new gondola providing rapid access to the Serre Ratier plateau. The nearest airports are Turin and Grenoble-Isere and there’s a railway station (Gare SNCF) located in Briançon.
