Action Outdoors has launched a new destination for the February half term week holidays in 2017 as well as offering an existing favourite over the Easter break for an all-inclusive price of £523.

The new resort is Les Deux Alpes – a high altitude ski resort in the French Alps that offers skiing and snowboarding for all ability levels, making it an ideal location for a family ski holiday.

During what is traditionally one of the highest priced weeks of the winter season, Action Outdoors are offering an all-inclusive ski or snowboard package that includes full-board accommodation at the UCPA centre, ski passes, equipment hire and lessons for £745 per person.

When you consider the ski passes, lessons and equipment hire could easily run into the hundreds of pounds alone, this is truly a remarkable price for a week’s skiing in one of France’s premier resorts.

During the Easter period, family ski holidays are once again being offered in the southern French Alps resort of Serre Chevalier, with a week costing £523 per person including full-board accommodation at the UCPA centre, ski passes, equipment hire and lessons.

With a heated outdoor pool and an excellent late season snow record, Serre Chevalier is one of Action Outdoors’ most popular destinations and ideal for springtime skiing – with slopes to suit all levels from beginner to experts, there’s an off-piste option for the more adventurous during this week too.

Managing Director of Action Outdoors, David Robertson, comments:

Family skiing holidays have a reputation for being expensive but it’s all the extras that make it rack up. When you have three decent meals a day, ski pass, lessons and equipment hire already paid for within a price that’s often less than most accommodation only options during the peak weeks of the season, then it’s much easier to manage the budget. We want to make family skiing accessible and not some kind of exclusive experience for the super wealthy.

Dates For The Family Ski Weeks

11th February 2017 (Les Deux Alpes): £745pp (seven nights full-board accommodation, ski pass 6.5 days, ski lessons, equipment hire, evening entertainment)

1st April 2017 (Serre Chevalier): £523pp (seven nights full-board accommodation, ski pass 6.5 days, ski lessons, equipment hire, evening entertainment)

Train Travel to the alps vs Plane Travel

Short haul flying is rarely a joyous experience and, like many people, I’m increasingly conscious of my carbon footprint. For my January and February trips to the mountains I decided to mix things up a little to compare plane travel with the train.
