In July, Courchevel and Méribel will open a new pass exclusively dedicated to bikers, the 2304 m high Loze pass, the first French pass over 2000 m to be cleared of snowand first step towards the forthcoming VIA 3 Vallées. This 4 or 5 m wide path will enable bike lovers to cross the 3 Valleys in a natural setting and enjoy breath-taking landscapes on top of the Alpes’ highest summits. This itinerary will later on become the world reference for cycling in a mountain resort.
While waiting for the connection to Méribel, Courchevel invites challengers at heart to climb the Loze pass on Sunday, the 12thof May, during the Eiffage time trial race. Amateurs are also obviously invited to join.
The last 5.8 kilometres of this ascent will enable cyclists to admire the Vanoise glaciers, the Grande Casse and mont Blanc summit safely.
Nice atmosphere and friendliness will be the keywords of ascent, with a generous local food supplying offered to competitors on arrival.
Two distances are available:
Eiffage Trophy: 22.6 km, 1510 m of positive altitude change. Departure from le Carrey (Alt. 845 m) from 10AM
Felt Trophy: 8.6 km, 580 m of positive altitude change. Departure from Courchevel (Alt. 1760 m) from 11AM
