About the Resort
For those looking for a bargain ski break, the Bulgarian Borovets piste map is a great destination. Mainly seen as a location that tempts those looking to party or families, it’s more suited to beginners and intermediates. With package holidays highly popular here, its true Alpine charm sets it as a good
When it comes to the slopes here, they’re pretty limited, yet more tempting to beginners and intemediates who are looking to ski and snowboard. The youngest visitors will enjoy Borokids Park. Here they’ll love the carousel and magic carpet; a great introduction to the smallest ski protégés
If you’re looking for a buzzing ski resort, Borovets is definitely for you. With a great party scene waiting for you, you’ll find loads of great bars that will be keen to welcome you. Prices are particularly reasonable for beer here, and it’s definitely worth visiting Bobby’s and Samokov – make sure you try the Bulgarian Rakia shots especially!
When you’re looking at Borovets ski accommodation, you’ll find a good mix of hotels and apartments to choose from. For Borovets hotels, most budgets are accommodated, with 3, 4 and 5-star hotels found in this resort. Budget-wise, there’ll be something to suit all budgets, whether you choose to stay in one of the self-catering apartments, or in the luxury 5-star Festa Winter Palace
The Borovets weather benefits from a fair amount of snowfall, however they have invested significantly in their infrastructure and lift system which means that you’ll find better reliability on the pistes. Traditionally you’ll find the snow at its lowest in November; with an average of 7cm to be found at the top. The best time of the year to visit Borovets is March; here you’re likely to find 158cm at the top.
Borovets may be infamous for its après-ski, but you’ve also got lots to explore off the slopes. For those who love to wander through markets, you’ll find a wonderful variety here selling traditional souvenirs and snowsports accessories here and in the small shops. There are lots of cultural and sightseeing opportunities too – it’s well worth heading for the capital – Sofia
We like Borovets as it really is a good value ski resort that makes these wonderful winter sports a possibility for those who may not normally be able to visit due to budget limitations. With its pretty tree-lined slopes, you’ll find some decent verticals to enjoy her
Borovets is definitely a more budget ski location. It is more limited when it comes to the local pistes, and a better choice for beginners and intermediates. Although there are a few challenges for advanced skiers and boarders to experience. They have invested in the infrastructure here, but there is still work to be done on the lifts, and in particular the old gondola.
