For the 2017/18 season, Bardonecchia has developed a new range of winter activities for visitors. A significiant investments has been made to develop a new lift and slope facilities for children,
New Jafferau 6 Gigante
They have built a new 6-seater automatic chairlift replacing the old “Giant” chairlift with extension line up to 2,363 meters, in a wonderful panoramic spot and improves the Jafferau area. The technologically advanced lift will allow you to travel for a distance of 1,607 metres for a gain in altitude of 433 metres in just 5 minutes and 22 seconds.The new lift starts from Bardonecchia 2000 and connects with two chairlifts to the top of Jafferau. You can use the Jafferau chairlift to reach the red runs and use the Ban lift to reach the Blue ones.
The development was built with a contribution from the Municipality of Bardonecchia and the new chairlift forms a major part of a large project to upgrade the entire Jafferau area.
Play area and family friendly activity
There are many activities for beginners in the new area dedicated to those taking their first steps on the snow and designed to guarantee fun.
The Campo Smith area has also been redesigned, so that it offers the ultimate comfort to all those who want to live the first snow experience in a safe environment. These new features with new facilities and new services are open for this season.
Scivolandia, is a playground created specifically for young children just beginning. With an even higher level of safety, it should ensure plenty of fun, without parents worrying. It should be a real winter paradise that will allow the youngest skiers and snowboarders to get acquainted with the snow, between games, inflatables structures and a carpet lift dedicated to them.
Melezet has a new carpet, which will be a facility that will allow beginners to take advantage of the gentle slopes of the Gavard area to enable them to take their first steps on the slopes. Ski Schools here, provide you with several specialist instructors, specially trained to provide beginners with customized lessons.
